No, it’s not over, since contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association can be done for a couple more months! Rose Manago and the county’s Agency on Elderly Affairs’ Memory Keepers (they’re one of the top teams at the Alzheimer’s Walk!) hosts its rummage sale (did anyone say “guitar?”) Saturday at the Lihue Neighborhood Center.

And don’t forget Mokihana Aquatics’ Coach Orlando “O” Anaya, who hosts the club’s Fun Meet Saturday and Sunday morning (go early for parking!) at the county Kapaa swimming pool. This is one of the rare times you can see Curt Colby’s Swim Kauai Aquatics’ water people swimming together with Mokihana Aquatics (and, don’t forget the Molokai Flash, who does excellent play-by-play) and other swim teams from around the state.
Kudos to Christina Gabriel (we’re going to miss her at the Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club) and Chip Bahouth (who got a lot of help from Jacob Vogelgesang!) with the Charity Walk in May. Mufi Hannemann joined the walk co-chairs and steering committee in distributing this year’s proceeds to 47 nonprofit organizations (Chef Guy Higa not only prepared breakfast, he got to accept awards for two organizations!)
Also, kudos to Mia Checkley (it didn’t rain!) and Ashley Quinn (they were at the Relay For Life North Shore, Saturday!) of Layton Construction on a great construction blessing for the Adolescent Treatment and Healing Center!
