Kudos to Alton Miyamoto (he had his granddaughter Mikeyla at the Wilcox Keiki Bike and Skateboard Safety Day, too), Dennis Kurokawa, the Rev. Tomo Hojo (he has been busy with the mokuto shiki ceremony as well), Masami Kouchi (his dad was a former minister at WKHM), and all the WKHM people in completing the renovations!
Jim Jung missed the mokuto shiki ceremony, but will be available Sunday for a personal presentation on the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombings at the Kapaa Hongwanji Mission starting at 9 a.m.
Saturday, Patti Ragasa Ornellas and her American Cancer Society crew takes to the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex for the Relay for Life, North Shore (they’re still bus’ up from the floods) starting at 3 p.m., and the survivors’ walk starting at 5:30 p.m. The luminaria (you can work on them from 3 p.m.) will be lit after the sun goes down.
Before that, Ron Wood is going to have the help of Auto Pi-Lot when he emcees the Alzheimer’s Walk that opens with registration at 7 a.m. at Kapaa Beach Park.
If you haven’t voted during early voting, or by mail, don’t forget to mark your ballots between all the activities taking place on primary election day Saturday.
