KALAHEO — The Raiders’ defense held Westside Blue’s Liana Hasegawa to four points Tuesday night during the girls seventh grade division title game at the youth basketball summer league matches at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
On the other side of the ball, the Raiders pushed seven points from Jaley Medeiros and another six points from Annie Nizo to claim the division crown with a 21-13 win over the Westside Blue.
During the opener of four games contested in Kalaheo, Na Koa fifth grade boys earned the right to its division fight Thursday following a 32-19 win over the Hotshots. The victory came when Ty Kamoku teased the twine for 10 points and getting help from Kaleo Demond and Kamalei Gonsalves who each scored six points.
Rhenz Panzalan topped the Hotshots with 10 points.
With the win, Na Koa advances to the division title game at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
The evening’s opening bout saw Kaulupono earn the right to the girls fifth grade division title following its one-point win over Westside Blue, 18-17. Kiaura Ortiz-Rita and Ari Acosta helped fuel the Kaulupono win with six points apiece.
Katelyn Constantino topped the Westside Blue effort with a game-high eight points.
Finishing with a 29-21 win over the Kauai Lynx, Westside White fills in the other side of the girls fifth grade division fight that tips off at 7 p.m. Thursday.
Xyrah Kua and Lilly Kaohelaulii topped the Westside White scoring with 10 and nine points, respectively. Anaiah Mendez topped the Lynx effort on nine points and Lailah Vinhaca-Kalani added seven points.
The youth basketball summer league comes to a close Thursday with the two division championship games — 6 p.m. for the boys fifth grade division crown, and 7 p.m. for the girls fifth grade division title.
