Koloa Road potholes are dangerous
Koloa Road potholes are dangerous
What happened to the pothole repair crew that works on Koloa Road? The holes are so bad that if a small car hits one that is on the curve it will be a nasty accident. This is so sad to show the tourists that come to our island. They will go home and call us a Third World-type country.

On drivers, sanitizers and peaceful neighborhoods
No Howard and Raley, we don’t need a a stop sign or traffic signal at the Maluhia junction. Motorists just need to slow down and drive with common sense. We have a lot of other treacherous left turns on the island and there’s no “stop signs” or “traffic signals” there, either.
Moving on, Ms. Bothe, in regards to your letter you suggested that a “porta potty” be placed at Queen’s Pond. And who’s going to pick up the tab for this? Have you heard of this new stuff, I believe it’s called “hand sanitizer.” It’s amazing. You can take it with you wherever you go.
There’s no porta potties placed throughout the island for members of the camping, fishing and hunting communities. And they seem to get along just fine.
And for Ms. Aquino, you and the rest of the Omao community will be perfectly fine. Motorists have options to choose from. They’re not forced to drive through your “peaceful residential neighborhood,” as you put it. They can use Koloa and Piko roads as well. It’s usually two days, the PBRA cleanup day and the Kauai Marathon. And maybe the occasional vehicle mishap that detours traffic to the aforementioned.
I don’t want to be accused of misleading the public. So I wanted to make a correction to my previous letter. Mr. Saito has two “MAGA” signs as well as the “Trump-Pence” sign in his establishment. Things to ponder.

Ka’aona based on your rant and logic we all should just shut up and deal with it. Then you infer the solution is to support trump. Here are a couple of nuggets to chew on.
1. In Jan. 2017 trump was informed in a meeting with intelligence agencies that there was evidence of 6 cyberattacks on our election in 2016.
2. Trump recently announced there is no timetable for the denuclearization of NK.
Yet you see him as a solution?
Ka’aona, your opinion will change when even tho you are carful driving in the area at your normal speed travelling eastbound. You get cut off by some crazy driver making the left turn at Tunnel of Trees and you have to slam on your brakes and possible hit the steering wheel with your face.
This is the second time that the next day I write the letter the road crew is out working on the road.
They must have someone checking the paper every day. It is really amazing. Thanks for chance to
express our views and action to be taken.

Porta Potties are used for other things besides washing hands. There are not enough of them on the Island and many are disgusting. Since this island depends on visitors Kauai could do a better job of providing clean porta potties for our guests. Also as a resident who travels around the island with two young grandchildren it is really gross to have to take these kids into one of the many filty porta potties.
HA try drive Olohena Road. It looks like it’s been chewed up by some monster earth mover. And maybe Ms Bothe can foot the bill for portable lua herself? And, yes: if more folks would drive with ALOHA our roads wouldn’t be so dangerous. Slow down, this ain’t the mainland.
Kudos to you Roy Saito, for being an upstanding American citizen exercising your RIGHT to express your support for the president of our great nation.
Shame on you Ka‘aona Kipuka for your nazi-like tactics. What next? You gonna go burn all his books, or maybe burn a cross in front of his establishment.
