Dennis Chun and the Namahoe crew were in the water Sunday during the Kauai Sailing Association community day (Congratulations, Char Ravelo, on getting the Leadership Kauai Voyaging program students to sail along with Shale Shore and her crew!).
Across the water, Dawn Cummings was hosting the State of Hawaii Law Enforcement crab contest which was an added benefit for Cub Scout Pack 148 who had collected at the Niumalu Park for its Bottle Rocket Launch Day. The excited Cubs got an education about those big (!!!) crabs from Dawn as well as getting to hold the securely-tethered monsters.
Josie Pablo and her Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital residents just got through celebrating the hospital’s anniversary. Does this mean she has time to check out Rev. Mieko Majima and the Kapaa Hongwanji Mission bon dance Friday and Saturday when the doors to the country store and food booth open at 5:30 p.m. on both nights, and the Special Olympics Kauai will have the andagi booth.
Jean Souza of the Eleele-Hanapepe Community Association said the candidates for the Kauai County Council will be at the Eleele Elementary School cafeteria, tonight, when doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the forum coordinated by the Community Coalition Kauai.
