HONOLULU — Safeway announced today that a lucky customer of the Kapahulu Safeway store is the first customer in Hawaii to win the $1 million prize in the Albertsons Companies Monpoly Collect &Win Game.
HONOLULU — Safeway announced today that a lucky customer of the Kapahulu Safeway store is the first customer in Hawaii to win the $1 million prize in the Albertsons Companies Monpoly Collect &Win Game.
While playing the Collect and Win game, Tiana M. of Honolulu also entered dozens of online codes from her collected game tickets. One of those codes was randomly selected in the Last Chance drawing and earned her the top prize.
“Customers across the country have won more than $110 million in prizes and discount offers during this year’s Monopoly Shop, Play, Win! game,” said Brad Street, president of the Northern California Division. “This is the second million-dollar prize winner this year and we are excited that one of our loyal Hawaii customers has won this guaranteed prize. The first $1 million cash prize winner of the Monopoly Shop, Play, Win! game was in Idaho Falls, Idaho earlier this year.”
“When the Monopoly game begins in February, excitement among customers and our employees for this day builds for the entire Safeway team,” said George Glukfeld, Hawaii district manager. “This million-dollar prize could have been awarded anywhere in the country and we are thrilled to present the check to one of our local customers on Oahu.”
A highlight of this year’s Collect &Win Game was an online game where customers could scan a code provided in certain Monopoly game tickets for the additional chance to win cash, gift cards and discount offers.
