What’s up with Kahiliholo Road repairs?
Dear Mayor:
Please give us an exact date of the completion of the repair on Kahiliholo Road. I was told by many that it could take one year to fix it, which would be unacceptable. About 300 houses are on this road and it has been a long time since any news was published.

Cannabis all about the money
My opinion on the cannabis: I have seen what it has done in Washington state and in California. It is nothing but a money grab for big business and big government.
I urge the people of Hawaii to not allow cannabis stores. There is no shortage of cannabis in this state or any other state. In every state the cost goes up to the consumer with no benefit and income goes down dramatically to the farmer.
Michael Allgeier, Kapaa
Michael Allgeier; Why not ban alcohol? It’s much more destructive than pot. Better yet, why not let the voters decide if they want recreational pot, just like we have recreational alcohol? As to the effects on other states, most studies point out mostly positive financial effects and increased tax revenues, which help fund education, infrastructure and other necessary elements of society. Pot has been around, mostly illegally, for a long time. What adverse effects have there been other than folks getting imprisoned? I’m sure the pot farmers would rather be able to grow their crops without the fear of jail, don’t you?
Selling pot in a dispensary is the only way we can collect taxes. Those taxes will go a long way to ease the burden on taxpayers. It’s weed… if saving money is the real issue simply grow your own. It’s really not that hard. But tourists will spend millions and the state needs the revenue more than we need individual pot farmers
You are asking the mayor a wrong question. What are doing is more like it.
More specific, what do you know about it? (You). No one is counting on him pulling some ribbons. A fat chance. Ok. From me, thin chance. Slim looking.
