A pair of events aimed at water safety are coming up.
The 5th Wave campaign, a benefit for the Kauai Lifeguard Association, is set for July 27 at the Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club in Lihue. There will be food, entertainment, prizes and an auction. There are a few individual seats and remaining tables available for $200 a person, with $120 of each being tax deductible.
The annual Statewide Ocean Safety and Drowning Prevention Conference is set for Aug. 2 and Aug. 3, also at the Kauai Marriott Resort & Beach Club. Attendees will be educated about the many ways they can assist in promoting ocean safety within their businesses. Topics will also include snorkeling concerns and hydrofoiling safety.
