Wendy Dorene Ruiz
Wendy Dorene Ruiz passed away at home in Phoenix, with loved ones nearby, on May 13, 2018, at the age of 53. She was born in Waimea on Sept. 14, 1964.
She was a human resouces generalist at MEB Services in Phoenix for the past two years.
She was preceded in death by mother Edith Ruiz, maternal grandparents Jisuo and Ichiko Marugame, paternal grandparents Damascio and Margaret Ruiz, brother Derek Ruiz, niece Brandi-Lei Moises, and nephew Jace Ruiz-Taira.
She is survived by her partner Paul Buse of Phoenix, father Donald R. Ruiz of Phoenix, sister Donna (Lucky) Moises of Lacomb, Oregon, twin brother Scott Ruiz of Phoenix, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services were held in Phoenix on Saturday, June 9.
A celebration of life will be held at Koloa Missionary Church at 3370 Poipu Road, on Saturday, July 7, at 10 a.m. Refreshments will follow.

Paige-Anne Ku‘uleinanionapua Keiko Teves passed away on June 13, 2018.
She worked as a registered nurse at various hospitals in Portland, Oregon.
She is survived by parents Rodney Teves and Tammy Nakamura and maternal grandfather Paul Nakamura.
She was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Charlotte Nakamura and paternal grandparents John and Katie Teves.
Services will be held at Nuuanu Memorial Park and Mortuary on Oahu on July 6, with visitation at 6 p.m. and celebration of life at 7 p.m. The funeral director is Jack Yamada.
Michael Kazuo Hatakeyama
Michael Kazuo Hatake-
yama, 73, of Lihue, passed away in Wilcox Medical Center on June 25, 2018. He was born in Lihue on Jan. 18, 1945, and was co-owner of Auto Value Parts Store.
He was preceded in death by parents Sakae and Matsuko Hatakeyama, mother Alice Hatakeyama, and brother Jon Hatakeyama.
He is survived by wife Darlene Hatakeyama, son John Hatakeyama, brother Michael (April) Womack, sisters Sharon Contrades and Joy (Les Koshi) Hatakeyama, and numerous aunties, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration will be held on Saturday, Aug. 4, at Kapaa Hongwanji Mission, with visitation from 10 a.m. and services celebrated at 11 a.m. The family graciously declines flowers.
Kauai Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
