Kauai Lynx Gray’s Jessica Cezar netted a game-high 18 points Monday during the summer youth basketball games at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
But the effort came up short as the Kauai Lynx fell to Kaulupono, 47-29, in the high school girls division matches.
Monique Joy Lorenzo topped the Kaulupono scoring on 13 points with Layla Tapucol adding 12 in the win.
The second high school girls division saw the Kauai Lynx Blue take over the Kauai Ballers behind 18 points from Amalya Sales, 10 marks from Bailey Perreira and nine from Marissa Layosa.
Hailey Overmyer led the Kapaa Ballers with 10 points.
The Westside Blue controlled the Monday night finale, a fifth grade girls division match, with Tyra Valencia dropping eight points to lead the Westside to a 33-6 win over the Rebels Girls.
Kaulupono high school girls racked up its second consecutive win Tuesday with a 42-31 showing over the Kauai Ballers who got 12 points from Hinali‘i Grance and 10 points from Lilya Cummings.
Kaulupono scoring was led by Hazel Serapio dropping 13 points and Kaye Serapio marking eight points.
During the second matchup that featured the Lynx Blue going up against the Lynx Gray, Amalya Sales, Kaylee Braun and Bailey Perreira each netted a dozen points to lead the Lynx Blue to a 49-18 showing over the Lynx Gray who got five points from Brianna Bernardo.
Rhenz Punzalan netted seven points to lead the Hanapepe Hotshots, fifth grade division boys to a 19-7 win over the Rebels who got four points from Kailer Chow.
Three games are on tap this Thursday starting at 6 p.m. at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center when the Rebels, fifth grade division boys, take on Isle Hoops followed by the fifth grade girls Westside Blue matching up against Kaulupono. The nightcap will have the seventh grade boys Thunder going up against the Warriors Blue starting at 8 p.m.
Three games are also on tap Saturday starting at 8:30 a.m. at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
