Hazardous waste collection set
LIHUE — County officials announced that household hazardous waste will be collected free of charge on Saturday, June 30, and Sunday, July 1.
Items that will be accepted include automotive products, lawn and garden products, household cleaners, oil-based paints, thinners and stains and fluorescent lights.
The collections will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at:
• Anaina Hou Mini Golf and Gardens in Kilauea, Saturday, June 30;
• Kapa‘a Public Works Baseyard, 4900 Kahau Road, Saturday, June 30;
• HanapepePublic Works Baseyard, 4380 Lele Road, Sunday, July 1; and
• Kauai Resource Center, 3460 Ahukini Road, Sunday, July 1.
No commercial or farm waste will be accepted. In addition, latex paint will not be accepted as it is not considered household hazardous waste.
