Curtis Shiramizu (he was helping with Faith at the Laundry Love program) said he’s got yakiniku duty at the Lihue Hongwanji bon dance that opens, tonight and Ron Wood (he was enjoying the Kauai Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours presented by Spectrum at Gaylord’s) has offers of flying saucers, too.

Happy birthday, Mark Perriello (the name is not “Scott,” Ron Wiley) who got birthday wishes sang to him by Rep. James Tokioka, and Dickie Chang got a KLA Wave (we’re hosting the state Junior Lifeguard finals!) promo piece done by Chantal Zarbaugh (she got one of those Spectrum thingies to organize her car trunk, and what did Samira Siale of Enterprise Rent-A-Car get?).
Kudos to Beth Haddock and Chef Mark Sassone (yes, he was mingling, too) on doing a great job with Gaylord’s (Fred Atkins even had time to find Sandi Kato-Klutke in one of the corners) that was closed for dinner to accommodate the more-than-150 people who came to find out about Spectrum.
Fran Roach of Hokuala was talking up the Boys &Girls Golf Tournament coming up, and Hua Duncan said Hokuala is hosting a Junior Golf event Saturday. Casey Reimer said Jack Harter Helicopters is doing the golf ball drop (boy, do we miss that Easter Seals golf tournament!) for the Kauai High School boosters.
OK, have a great weekend. Josie Pablo is having her Mahelona Hospital kupuna at the Mayor-a-thon, and Marynel Valenzuela said the Kauai Fashion Weekend has show-only tickets available!
