Cell phone should go off in vehicles
Cell phone should go off in vehicles
Just save lives. Cell phone companies and car makers should get together to place a device in the vehicle and cell phones. This device would turn off cell phone when a driver enters the vehicle. No phone usage, texting, etc. would be allowed while driving.
Just thinking out side the box!

What does public want in new landfill?
I was just wondering if there has been an opinion poll done concerning the “new” landfill and an alternative H-power plant scaled to suit Kauai. I don’t remember if the public was ever asked which they’d prefer on Kauai.

Let’s help others when they need it
Aloha to Heather and Shawn Miller. Sorry for your loss, Thanka. I honor the life of Thanka for helping you, Heather, to cope with life as you have suffered your loss, your mother.
Kauai is a loving place and what better place to spend time with your family as to be at the Kealia path. It is a spiritual place that people and animals can find haven of peace and joy when other areas of their lives are crumbling by injustice.
I am saddened that you were denied emergency services that we all depend upon in time of need. Your emotional distress seems to be enough for having emergency services. As a community, as the Kauai ohana, as doing things pono, above all things, giving aloha to anyone in need. Let us do the right thing to assist others in their distress.

mAhalo Sam Shirai, You are right on the MONEY, the community was not apprised of the “new” landfill site. What Has been chosen is RIDiculous, but oh so typical of those that are supposed to represent WE the People. My opinion, is the “landfill” should be placed somewhere maukai end of airport runway or in the area where auto aide used to be and in the 70s where landfill was just pushed over the makai side of the runway, down the pali and into the ocean. Access to this site from the highway south of hanamaulu bridge is purrfect for large trucks to access the site i think is a much more appropriate site, NEVER behind kalepa as the access is absolutely dangerous, unqualified in every way you look at it, and must be stopped. Water, the new gold, that grovefarm sells to our corporate Water Department is purchased for community usages and then sold to a private corporate bottle water company. West side water already is compromised by six gmo corporates, undrinkable, “buy bottled water” DOW suggests. But besides the current landfill in kekaha, our “navy military base has its very own water well monitored” 24-7 via military police, as described by one MP that i spoke with while searching Their sight for unbroken bottles of old. To say the least, i was horrified that our corporate departments are so ruthless that even “corruption” isnt the best word for what has become of this once lovely island home.
Well written Debra. I hope you take an English class before running for any public office again.
Throwing trash in a dump, and covering it with dirt, is so beyond 20th century.
A waste-to-energy facility should have been on the table, and built at the existing landfill. A win for everyone.
But yet again, when County Government leaders are local football and baseball stars, a former felon, old family plantation money, and professional politicians, then this is what you get.
Vote for the best and the brightest that have past REAL experience, qualifications, and credentials. Stop the local “Cultural Mafia” from running this island in to the ground.
Let’s just hope that Howard doesn’t end up in an overturned car someday with just his dead cell phone for company!
Howard is right on to saving lives.
Just saying……most cell phone has a GPS.
manongindashadow, you are Howard and everyone knows it.
Just Saying………..hopefully you don’t have a head on w/ a semi or a telephone post…..your phone will show messages, “on my way driving ” or “checking messages and texting!”
I echo you, “Just Saying!”
