Pablito ‘Lino’ T. Arellano
Pablito “Lino” T. Arellano, 73 years old of Koloa, Kauai, passed away on May 16, 2018, at Straub Medical Center. Born on July 19, 1944, in the Philippines, he was retired from the State – Department of Transportation.
He is preceded in death by his father, Fernando Arellano; brothers, Adriano, Romeo and Esteban Arellano.
He is survived by his wife, Remedios Agustin Arellano of Koloa; daughters, Eden (Gavin) Raquel of Wailua, Joycelyn (Regie Ragasa) Arellano of Kapaa; son, Paul A. Arellano of Puhi; 5 grandchildren; mother, Filomena Arellano of the Philippines; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 22, 2018, at Borthwick Mortuary Chapel in Koloa from 6 to 9 p.m. again on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa from 8 to 9:45 a.m. where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. There will be a burial to follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Randolph ‘Randy’ David Keliikuli
Randolph “Randy” David Keliikuli, passed away on May 27, 2018, at his home in Kalaheo. He was born in Honolulu, on Oct. 27, 1937.
He is survived by his wife, Yolanda; son, Steven (Joanna) of Kapaa; daughter, Krissy (Rocky) Sales of Honolulu; 8 grandchildren; sister, Lorraine (John) Hoapili of Waimanalo, Oahu; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo, on Saturday, July 7, 2018. Viewing begins at 8:30 to 10 a.m. A special tribute and eulogy will be held from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Mass will follow at 11 a.m.
Burial will be at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery in Hanapepe. The Air Force Honor Guard will do the military honors. Luncheon will follow at the cemetery pavilion.
Clyde Nakamura
Clyde Nakamura, was born in Lihue, Kauai, on April 30, 1950. He taught auto mechanics at American Pacific College in California.
Clyde is survived by his wife, Graciela “Chile” Nakamura; daughters, Melinda Nakamura, Melissa Nakamura, Jennifer Garcia, Jessica Lopez, Claudia Nakamura and Carla Nakamura; grandchildren, Kylee Munoz, Jadee Munoz, Riley Munoz, Ryan Munoz. Emilia Garcia, Avelia Garcia, Ahnalia Garcia, Kenichi Lopez, Yasuko Lopez, Kazuhiro Lopez, Christopher Casas, Lily Casas, Emma Casas, Kal-El Gonzalez, Kara Gonzalez.
Also survived by his brother, Milton Nakamura and sisters, Irene Nitta and Marie Hashimura. Surrounded by his family, Clyde passed away peacefully on May 23, 2018, in Sylmar California. Services will be held in California.
Peter ‘P.K.’ Kawanana Kali, Jr.
A much-loved individual, Master Sergeant Peter “P.K.” Kawanana Kali, Jr., 47, of Aiea, Hawaii, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on April 13, 2018, at his home surrounded by family and friends. P.K. was born on Jan. 3, 1971, in Waimea, Kauai, and was an aircraft loadmaster instructor with the Hawaii Air National Guard.
He is survived by his mother, Alberta Jardin Kali; his sister, Clarice Kaleolani Kali; his nephew, Kalen Kamalanikaumaka Kakutani; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Albert and Christina Kali; his maternal grandparents, Albert and Clara Jardin; and his father, Peter Kawanana Kali, Sr.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo, Kauai. Visitation with family will begin at 9 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m.
The family welcomes leis. Scattering of P.K.’s ashes will be held privately at a later date.
Alice Akiko Kawasaki Hatakeyama
Alice Akiko Kawasaki Hatakeyama, 90, of Kapaa, passed away at home on June 13, 2018. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on Nov. 15, 1927, and retired from Yamada’s Cleaners.
Preceded in death by her husband, Sakae Hatakeyama; parents, Yasuichi and Yae Tasaka Kawasaki; brothers, Clifford Hiroshi Kawasaki, George Kawasaki; sisters, Helen Yae Zane, Ruth Yamada, Irene Yagi and Elaine Honda; Great-grandson, Thomas Patrick Sakae Leines.
Alice is survived by four children, Michael (Darlene) Hatakeyama, Michael (April) Womack, Sharon Contrades, Joy (Les Koshi) Hatakeyama; 6 grandchildren, Michael (Darlene) Contrades, Leslie (Lee Gusman) Womack, Michele (Danny Rego) Womack, Elisabeth (Dayne) Tomori, Jennifer (Joshua) Leines, John Hatakeyama; 5 great-grandchildren, Micah Contrades, Courtney Contrades, Joshua Rego, Gavin Leines, Lucy Leines; sisters, Sharon (Jack) Gushiken, Shirley Yonemura; numerous nieces and nephews.
Private services will be held at a later date.

Victor Allasot Bigno, Sr. 92 years old of Lihue, Kauai, passed away on June 12, 2018, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on July 21, 1925, in Makaweli, Kauai, he was a retired Painter and also from the U.S. Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Donesio and Columba Bigno.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Sadan Bigno of Lihue; sons, Jonathan (Laura) Bigno of Puna, Victor (Violet) Bigno of Lihue; daughter, Myrna (Paul) Muto of Seattle; grandchildren, Matthew (Rebecca) , Adam (Nicole) , Gina (Jonathan), Marie (Alex), Jackie (Debra), Cora (Debra), Keoni (Laora), Kirstie (Kekoa), Sichel (Jason), Tawnie (Alisah) & Mayuri (Bettie); 21 great-grandchildren; 3 great great-grandchildren; sister, Nina Tacay of Lihue; numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai from 3 to 3:45 p.m. Where serves will be at 4 p.m. Inurnment will be on Monday, June 25, 2018, at Kauai Veterans Cemetery.

Victorino Battad Coma, 93 years old of Lihue, Kauai, passed away on June 12, 2018, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born Dec. 24, 1924, in the Philippines, he was a retired maintenance worker.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Cleto and Pilar B. Coma; son, Romie U. Coma; daughter, Josie Coma.

Richard Iuda Kealoha Kaulike ‘Pinao’ Kanahele
Richard Iuda Kealoha Kaulike “Pinao” Kanahele, 61 years old, of Kekaha, Kauai, passed away on May 18, 2018, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on Dec. 4, 1956, in Puuwai, Niihau, he was the lead Gardener for 39 years with the National Tropical Botanical Gardens.
He is preceded in death by his father, William K. Kanahele; mother, Martha M. Kaohelaulii Kanahele; sisters, Martha K. Kanahele Niau, Rebecca Kanahele Niau; brother, Lionel Kanahele.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Beth Girod of Kekaha; Hanai daughter, Jaylynn K. Kanahele of Kekaha; brother, Ambrose (Iwa) Kanahele of Kekaha; brother-in-laws, Sonny A. Niau of Kekaha, Michael (Tina) Girod of Kekaha, Matthew (Luciana) Girod of Maryland; Hanai sister, H. Pualei Kaohelaulii of Kekaha; one uncle, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 23, 2018, at Garden Island Mortuary Chapel in Lawai at 10 a.m. A private scattering at sea will be held at a later date.

Lloyd ‘Porky’ Silva
Lloyd “Porky” Silva, 62 years old, of Kekaha, Kauai, passed away on May 16, 2018, at his home. Born on Oct. 18, 1955, in Lihue, Kauai, Lloyd was a cane carrier with Kekaha sugar.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and& Mildred Silva; sister, Geraldine Silva.
He is survived by his brother, Ernest (Brenda) Silva, Jr. of Kekaha; sisters, Rosalie (Moki) Nitta of Kekaha, Jasmine Silva of Waipahu; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of life will be on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Waimea Neighborhood center from 9 to 10:15 a.m. where prayer services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Casual attire suggested.

Betty Grace Bettencourt
Betty Grace Bettencourt, peacefully passed away on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at the age of ninety-four in Reedley, California. Betty was loved very much by all for being a wonderful and kind person.
Betty was born in Saxton, Pennsylvania on Sept. 10, 1923, to Peter and Mae Williams. She graduated high school in Robertsdale, Pennsylvania and moved to join her sister June in Washington D.C.
Betty met Harold, the love of her life, in Tokyo in 1946. She and sister June had volunteered to work for the US Government in Tokyo. Harold and Betty were married in Tokyo on July 14, 1949 and created a beautiful life together in Yokohama. Here they raised their two sons, Stephen and Gregory.
Betty was an example to many in the way she led her life. She was a wonderful Mother that made it a priority to raise her two sons. She was also generous with her time volunteering for school, church, and charitable events. It was a lifetime of dedication to her family and church that Betty and her family was blessed with a private audience with Pope John Paul II on September 11, 2002.
Betty is preceded in death by her husband, her Father and Mother, her sister June, and her sister Dorothy.
Betty is survived by her sons Stephen Bettencourt and his wife Joanie of Boerne, Texas and Gregory Bettencourt and his wife Susan; three grandchildren, Megan Bayles and husband Alan, Summer Frundel and husband Brian, Brian Bettencourt, and Patrick Mulhern; and three great grandchildren, Caroline, Vienna, and Connor.
Betty will be buried at St Catherine’s Cemetery in Kapaa next to her beloved Harold surrounded by many of generations of Harold’s family. The cemetery overlooks Kealia Bay where Harold’s grandparents landed more than 130 years ago.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Catherine’s of Alexandria Church on Friday, June 22 at 10 a.m. Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral mass at St. Catherine’s Cemetery.
