Vote for the best candidate, not friends, family
Vote for the best candidate, not friends, family
After reading various well thought out, measured articles about how to vote … here is my advice on who to vote for:
Since county government is so dysfunctional Lord only knows. Rule of thumb could be to vote for anyone who will implement the late, great Ernie the Auditor’s sanguine (I get points for that) suggestions. Make candidates promise to do this over the dead body of some dead relative or other.
Please don’t vote for the same people, even though they are your close friend, auntie, or uncle, unless you don’t mind disappearing into a deep pothole on Olohena Road. Or sitting in traffic for, oh about 10 hours a day because of overdevelopment.
Note to tourists: “Brown” water alert actually means there is sewage in there because of poor infrastructure. Also, it is in there all the time at certain locations.
Also, all your garbage still goes to a big mountain out in Kekaha where they basically throw dirt on it. The cruise ships dump their sewage about three miles out, for those of you who wonder why we call them the Poop Poop boats.
Note to corporate America: Please go back to the mainland. We did fine without all he big box stores before, and it is a terribly flawed view of reality for a small island. I am not exactly holding my breath on that happening, but you never know. Cost U Less closing down was a big loss to Kapaa shoppers who now have to drive over to Costco to get stuff. I need an IV drip by the time I walk from one end of Costco to the other. I know it is cheap, but the waste stream from Costco is enormous, and they are not paying for that out of their profits. Anyway, all for now. Going to get my IV drip.
