Is the “barking dog law” still in existence, and what is the procedure for a resident to report a barking dog?
Ordinance No. 996 is still in existence and states that no person shall keep any dog(s) which barks, bays, cries, or howls intermittently for a period of 30 minutes within a 45-minute period of time, or continuously or incessantly for a period of 15 minutes. Enforcement of Ordinance No. 996 falls under the Kauai Humane Society and reporting a barking dog should be made to the Kauai Humane Society. The Kauai Humane Society can be reached at 632-0610.
Lydgate Beach Park
Does the county have any plans to install a guardrail on the ramp from the parking area to the large pavilion at Lydgate Beach Park?
The county does not have plans to install a guardrail at this location.
Kapaa
Are there plans to build a bus shelter in front of the Kapaa Public Library?
Yes. The next phase of the bus shelter project will include this stop. The construction contract will be executed next month.
When is Kaholalele Road scheduled to be resurfaced or reconstructed?
The county is looking to add Kaholalele Road to the upcoming Islandwide Road Resurfacing project which will be going out to bid this fall.
