HANAPEPE — Father and keiki disc golf, mini golf and an inflatable volcano will all be at Kukuiolono Park and Golf Course on June 16 for a free Dad’s Day Weekend hosted by Storybook Theatre, Kauai Disc Golf and Kauai Men’s Conference.
“The Storybook Theatre will honor Kauai’s families by creating a free event that is all about our dads,” Storybook Theatre’s Mark Jeffers said in a press release. “Keiki and their dads will enjoy the world’s only inflatable coral reef and inflatable volcano created by renown and esteemed fabric artist Evelyn Roth of Adelaide, Australia.”
The reef &volcano also features more than 40 beautiful costumes for performers and audience participants who will present a parade around the celebration event and visit the inside of the inflatables for storytelling and learn about the importance of preserving our ocean eco systems.
Prizes will be awarded to the winners of the day’s contests and games including games like the Kokee Museum’s Eco Bean Bag Toss, the father and child disc golf tournament and the father and child mini golf tournament.
“This is a great opportunity for dad’s to be outside and active with their children,” Jeffers said.
Dad’s Day runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Kukuiolono Park and Golf Course in Kalaheo.
