Rev. Tomo Hojo and his West Kauai Hongwanji ‘ohana will take the wraps off the bon dance at the West Kauai Hongwanji Mission, Hanapepe Temple, this Friday and Saturday, starting with dancing at 7:30 each night. People can go early (avoiding that Puhi bottleneck) and check out the early offerings of the weekly Friday Night Art Walk in Hanapepe, and the early opening of the bon dance food booth.

Alton Miyamoto (no Aloha Fridays during bon dance season!) will have The Men of the Koi Dynasty out for its 10th anniversary, and will Brian Yamamoto (he was busy helping Gary Furugen during the Kapaa Jodo bon dance) make the trek over the hill from Kapaa?
This was a busy weekend for Brian Atendido (his sister Flo Tazaki was at bon dance, too) and Mike Teruya who were able to take out their cameras for the bon dance Friday night and still make the King’s Parade and Celebration (Kudos to Melissia Sugai and her “team” on a great celebration!) Saturday… John Feagans (maybe he’ll be at the Hanapepe bon dance?) was stuck at Kilohana having his own issues about not being able to get photos of that locomotive.
