Felisita Loretta ‘Sitang’ Domingo King
Felisita Loretta “Sitang” Domingo King, 91, of Lihue, peacefully and gracefully fell asleep in death on May 15, 2018, at the Garden Isle Rehabilitation and Health Care Center.
She was born on Jan. 28, 1927, in Waimea.
She is survived by daughters Angelita “Lita” “Angie” (Unciano) Mello of Aiea, Oahu, and Nieves (Allen) Bobiles of Lihue, brothers Sylvester “Bestre” Domingo of Kekaha, Raymondo “Mondo” (Janet) Domingo of Hanamaulu and Ernesto “Ernie” Domingo of Lihue, granddaughter Tanya (Reggie) Aribon of Hanamaulu, grandsons Sean Bobiles and Justin Bobiles of Lihue, and Angel Unciano Jr. of Oahu, great-grandson Travis (Alamea) Igaki-Aribon of Portland, Oregon, hanai granddaughter Vicky Magnuski of Lihue, along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents Justo and Susana Domingo of Waimea, brother Flaviano Phillip “Bianong” (Erika) Domingo of Augusta, Georgia, sisters Frances “Sayang” Short of Tillamook, Oregon and Folgencia“Inshiang” Abrams of Lihue, and sister-in-law Juana Domingo of Kekaha.
We will be honoring the memory of our loving, generous, kind, entertaining, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and aunt on Saturday, June 16, at the Garden Island Mortuary Ltd. Lawai chapel. Friends may visit with the ohana from 9 a.m. A prayer service will begin at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be held Sunday, June 17, at 10 a.m. at the Kekaha Public Cemetery.
Pablito ‘Lino’ T. Arellano
Pablito “Lino” T. Arellano, 73, of Koloa, passed away on May 16, 2018, at Straub Medical Center.
Born on July 19, 1944 in the Philippines, he was retired from the state Department of Transportation Airports Division.
He was preceded in death by father, Fernando Arellano and brothers, Adriano, Romeo and Esteban Arellano.
He is survived by wife, Remedios Agustin Arellano of Koloa; daughters, Eden (Gavin) Raquel of Wailua and Joycelyn (Regie Ragasa) Arellano of Kapaa, son Paul A. Arellano of Puhi, five grandchildren, mother Filomena Arellano of the Philippines, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Friday, June 22, at Borthwick Kauai Mortuary chapel in Koloa from 6 to 9 p.m., and again on Saturday, June 23, at St. Raphael Church in Koloa from 8 to 9:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

William ‘Billy’ Yoshiharu Ouye Sr.
William “Billy” Yoshiharu Ouye Sr., 89, of Wailua Houselots, passed away at home on May 27, 2018. He was born in Lihue on March 14, 1929. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he retired as a tour bus driver with Roberts Hawaii. He was a great cook and honed his skills while cooking at his parents’ restaurant, the Club Jetty in Nawiliwili.
He was preceded in death by parents Manji and Emma Ouye, tutu kane Pau Waiuli and tutu wahine Marie Mahoe Hookano Waiuli, sister Marian Miyashiro, and hanai sister Maile Semitekol.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Anita Ouye, children Aaron Pono (Karen) Ouye, Kammy (Paul) Grable, Jeffrey (Samantha) Ouye, Karen (Marvin) Rivera, Sonia (Blaine) Nakano, Clement (Brigitte) Correia Jr., William (Cindy) Ouye Jr., Iwalani Emma (Gabriel) Gutierrez, Danielle (Anatalio) Ramos, 21 grandchildren, 36 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, hanai brother Bill “Kaipo” Asing, and sister Betty Nestuk.
Private services were held on June 4 at Pahulu, one of his favorite fishing spots. He was an avid fisherman and perpetuated the art of throwing net to the next generation as was passed down to him from his tutu kane. He and the family are grateful to our Lord Jesus Christ, who carried him through the challenges in the last stages of his life.

Daniel James Best
Daniel James Best, 47, of Kapaa, passed away on June 4, 2018. He was born in California on July 14, 1970.
He is survived by siblings Eileen Poole, John Best, Maureen Durkee, Steve Best, Kevin Best and Brian Best, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He chose to live his life on the beautiful Garden Island of Kauai. He lived his life to the fullest and shared his sense of adventure with all those fortunate enough to have known him. His remarkable spirit will be remembered by his family and his many incredible friends.
A celebration of his life will be held on Kauai at a later date.

Peter ‘P.K. Kawanana Kali Jr.
A much-loved individual, Master Sgt. Peter “P.K.” Kawanana Kali, Jr., 47, of Aiea, Hawaii, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer, on April 13, 2018, at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born on Jan. 3, 1971 in Waimea, and was an aircraft loadmaster instructor with the Hawaii Air National Guard.
He is survived by mother Alberta Jardin Kali, sister Clarice Kaleolani Kali, nephew Kalen Kamalanikaumaka Kakutani, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Albert and Christina Kali, maternal grandparents Albert and Clara Jardin, and father Peter Kawanana Kali Sr.
A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, June 23, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo, with visitation with the family
at 9 a.m. and Mass at 11 a.m. The family welcomes lei.
A scattering of ashes will be held privately at a later date.

Mae Taeza
Gwendolyn Mae Taeza, 77, of Kapaa, passed away on May 16, 2018, at her home in Kapaa.
Born on April 27, 1941 in Honolulu, she retired as a preschool teacher at Stepping Stones School and also as a sales associate and seamstress for Pono Cleaners.
She is survived by sons Matthew (Lani) Taeza of Waimea, Mark Taeza of Maui and John Taeza Jr. of Virginia, daughter Holly (Sam) Moises of Kapaa, grandchildren Ronessa Alisna, Peter Alisna, Tyrus Moises, Bailee Taeza, Matthew K. Taeza, Jessica Taeza, Jazzerie Taeza, Tristan Taeza, Selah Taeza, Shazlyn Taeza and Bryson Taeza, six great-grandchildren, brothers Leroy Santos Sr. of Wailua and David Santos Jr. of Lihue, sisters Margaret Villatora of Kapaa and Barbara Ventura of Kapaa, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, June 16, at St. Catherine Church in Kapaa from 9 to 9:45 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Internment will follow at the St. Catherine Church Cemetery.
The family suggests casual attire.
