PRINCEVILLE — The Westin Princeville Ocean Resort Villashas announced its tenth annual Charity Golf Tournament will be held at the Makai Golf Club at Princeville on June 24.
Proceeds will benefit charitable organizations on Kauai, including the Visitor Industry Charity Walk, American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life, Kauai United Way, the Kauai Lifeguard Association, the Waipa Foundation and more.
The event price is $135 per entrant and will include cart, green fees, gift bag and an awards luncheon at the “19th hole” on the resort’s main lawn featuring live entertainment and prizes.
A helicopter ball drop is scheduled in conjunction with the tournament. Golf balls can be purchased for $10 each with all proceeds going to charity. The balls will be dropped from a helicopter over a hole at the Makai Golf Club, and the closest balls to the hole will win.
Prizes include $1,500 cash for first place, $1,000 for second place and $500 for third place.
More than $120,000 has been raised since the tournament’s inception in 2009. The resort’s ongoing commitment to Kauai charitable organizations has generated over $450,000 to benefit the community since the resort’s opening in 2008.
