Cindy Miki Kobayashi
Cindy Miki Kobayashi, 55, of Lihue, passed away at Wilcox Medical Center.
She was born in Lihue on Oct. 12, 1962, and was formerly employed as an accountant with Kauai Office Equipment.
She was preceded in death by father Ronald Kobayashi.
She is survived by mother Betty Kobayashi, brother Bruce (Sonya) Kobayashi, niece Lisa Kobayashi, and nephew David Kobayashi.
Private services were held.

Wendy Dorene Ruiz
Wendy Dorene Ruiz passed away at home in Phoenix with loved ones nearby on May 13, 2018, at the age of 53. She was born in Waimea on Sept. 14, 1964. She was a human resources generalist at MEB Services in Phoenix for the past two years.
She was preceded in death by mother Edith Ruiz, maternal grandparents Jisuo and Ichiko Marugame, paternal grandparents Damascio and Margaret Ruiz, and brother Derek Ruiz.
She is survived by partner Paul Buse of Phoenix, father Donald R. Ruiz of Phoenix, sister Donna (Lucky) Moises of Lacomb, Oregon, twin brother Scott Ruiz of Phoenix, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held in Phoenix on Saturday, June 9, at 2 p.m. For additional information regarding this service go to www.almoore-grimshaw.com.
A celebration of life will be held at Koloa Missionary Church at 3370 Poipu Rd, Koloa, on Saturday, July 7, at 10 a.m., with refreshments to follow.
Richard Risuke Uchiyama
Richard Risuke Uchiyama, 91, of Lihue, passed away on May 25, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on April 30, 1927 on Kauai, he was a retired maintenance worker with the Kauai Surf and Westin Hotel.
He was preceded in death by wife Betty Uchiyama and a great-grandchild.
He is survived by daughter Karen Watada of Lihue, grandchildren Taren Fujimoto of California and Tomie Fujimoto of Lihue, sister Sue S. (Dr. Richard) Watase of California, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held.
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Robert Takeo Arii
Robert Takeo Arii, 66, of Kapaa, passed away at his home in Kapaa.
Born on March 3, 1952 in Oahu, he was a cook with the Aston Kauai Beach Resort.
He is survived by daughters Jade Emery of Hanapepe, Julie Arii of Hanapepe and Rachel Arii of Omao, son Milo Murguia of Kalaheo, six grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Paddle out at 10 a.m. and celebration of life are at Poipu Beach Park on Saturday, June 9.
The family suggests casual attire.

Theresa Caroline Ku‘uipo Akau-Casil
Theresa Caroline Ku‘uipo Akau-Casil, 66, of Kapaa, passed away on May 25, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on Oct. 20, 1951 on Oahu, she was preceded in death by sister Renee Akau.
She is survived by husband Nelson Wayne McKinley Casil of Kapaa, daughters Tasha Yandall of Kona, Apelila Yandall of Kona, Teihani Casil of Kona and Temana Duh of Honolulu, parents Charles and Dorothy Akau, brothers Larry Akau of Kapaa, Awana Akau of Kona, sisters Sapphire Winston of Wasella, Alaska, and Healani Akau of Kapaa, nine grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at a later date.
