KALAHEO — Kauai Lynx took two of its games, and finished with a tie, Tuesday night during the youth basketball summer league games at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center. The Lynx will also take the floor Thursday night, to close its first week in the summer league.

Olivia Malafu of the Dream Team scored a game-high 19 points, but the Kauai Lynx came back to answer with 11 points from Clara Tolentino and 10 points from Kadee Parubrub to finish with a 23-23 tie in the seventh grade girls match, Tuesday night at the Kalaheo Neighborhood Center.
That was the only stalemate in the three matches contested.
During the second match, a fifth grade girls division game, the Kauai Lynx was a 44-14 winner over Westside White behind 27 points netted by Kate Lynn Colipano. Shaylen Guerrero led the Westside effort on five marks.
The finale featured a ninth grade girls match where the Kauai Lynx rolled to a 35-13 victory over the Dream Team. Amalya Sales topped all scorers with 13 points for the Lynx followed by Zoe Santa Maria getting eight points.
Alexis Ann Yam and Malafu topped the Dream Team’s effort with four points apiece.
The girls continue on the hardwood, Thursday night with three games on tap when the fifth grade Kauai Lynx opens against Kaulupono at 6 p.m. followed by the ninth grade Kauai Lynx tangling with the Ballers at 7 p.m.
The nightcap will feature the seventh grade girls, Kauai Lynx 6 going up against the Kauai Lynx 7 at 8 p.m.
