This year’s walk took place at the North Vidinha soccer fields to accomodate the additional vendors offering breakfast following the walk. The expanded space also allowed the 60 beneficiary nonprofit organizations an opportunity to become involved in the festivities.
Lillian Watari took the Golden Slippah award for the fifth consecutive year as the top individual fundraiser, helping her employer resort — Hanalei Bay Resort — top the field of visitor industry facilities contributions.
Chip Bahouth, general manager of the Sheraton Kauai Resort, and Christina Gabriel, general manager of Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club, served as co-chairs for this year’s walk.
