Kudos to all the graduates, including Chanel Josiah who was the sole graduate from the Leeward Community College. Josiah, a mother of five, said she could earn her liberal arts degree because after taking nine credits at Kauai Community College, could fulfill the remainder of her coursework online at Leeward Community College.
She’s been accepted to the University of Hawaii at Manoa along with Kiana Pagador and plans to become a speech pathologist by doing more online classes.
More kudos to Dana Hazelton and Coleen Groen on graduating the first class for Community Health Worker this year at the Kauai Community College, and Mahealani Ho‘okano, graduating in plant biology and tropical agriculture, was definitely seen after putting together her graduation ensemble with a gown from a thrift store (it wouldn’t take the black dye) and a borrowed hat.
