Anson N. Takemoto
Anson N Takemoto, passed away on Feb. 15, 2018, in Pataskala, OH. Anson was born on Jan. 17 1957.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Taro Takemoto; paternal grandparents, Sotaro and Matsuyo Okazaki Azeka; paternal grandfather, Kyotaro Takimoto; maternal grandparents, Teijii Tanaka and Kimi Inomoto Tanaka.
Anson is survived by his mother, Audrey Takemoto of McCleary, WA and Wailua, Kauai; sister, Naomi Takemoto of McCleary, WA. He is also loved and remembered by his many relatives on the Azeka, Aseka, Hamada, Okazaki, Sugihara, Tanaka, and Yasutake family clan. Due to health related issues Anson lived in Ohio for several years. Anson will be remembered by those who knew him well as a fun, happy go-lucky and caring person with a distinct laugh and smile.
A private service will be held at the Kapaa United Church of Christ.

Gavin Ishii
Gavin Ishii, 39, of Oxnard, CA, was tragically taken too soon doing what he loved the most on Wednesday, May 9, 2017. Rest easy until we see you again.
He was born on March 13, 1979, on the island of Kauai, Hawaii. Moving to Oxnard, CA as a teenager, you could take the boy from the island, but never take the island from the boy. A true local boy at heart, he loved his family, his home state, animals, cars, and good food. Gavin finally found his stride in life, graduating from technical school and finding a great career where he could put his handiness and work ethic to good use.
A proud father, beloved son, and cherished brother, Gavin will be missed by friends and family alike. He is survived by his parents, Linda and Ronald Robles of Oxnard, CA; brother, Shane (Rick) Ishii-Huffer of Auburn, WA; son, Tyler Fontanilla of Kapaa; sister, Celina (Ryan) Osgood; brother, Ronald (Ashley) Robles, Jr.; sister, Sofia (Leo) Jurado; niece, Tabytha and nephews, Nolan and Ronald III; and extended families. His Grandmother, Mary Lou Correa, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins of the Ishii and Correa families of Hawaii join in our grief.
Gavin was preceded in death by his father, Steve Ishii, of Kauai.
Mainland memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 17, 2018, in Camarillo, CA.
Additional services and celebration of life and final resting plans will occur on Kauai at a date to be determined by the family. We will announce these plans as they become available.
Dawn Lahela Hosaka
Dawn Lahela Hosaka, passed away on May 7, 2018, on Oahu. She was born on Jan. 14, 1967.
He was a co-owner of Bobbie’s Restaurant in Hanapepe.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Barbara Hosaka; sister, Tracy Hosaka.
She is survived by her brothers, Derek, Ritchie, Shawn; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Private services will be held on June 16, 2018. There will be a celebration of life to follow.
Wilfred Ibara
Wilfred Ibara, 76 years old, of Kekaha, Kauai, passed away on April 22, 2018, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on Jan. 13, 1942, in Waimea, Kauai, he was retired from Kekaha Sugar Company & served in the United States Army.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Saburo and Rose Ibara.
He is survived by his daughters, Angela (Jim Coburn) Ibara of Edmond, OK, Julie Ibara of Anaheim, CA; brothers, Richard (Irm) Ibara of Mountain View, CA, Les (Linda) Ibara of Waimea, Tom (Melanie) Ibara of Waimea; sisters, Pat (Glenn) Nitta of Waimea, Sue (Allen) Arquette of Waimea; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints- Kekaha ward at 10:30 a.m. Private scattering . The family request aloha attire, no kodan and no flowers.
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arraignments.
