Following a spring break full of Flat Stanleys, Canon Jung had Sparkles (love the turtle!) on the tail end of a weeklong visit from his preschool (Kamehameha Schools-Anahola) at the Kauai Community Market (yep, got some University of Hawaii green onion seeds from the Master Gardeners too) where Miguel Chrisman, Daphne and John McClure were surprised by a visit from Miguel’s friend Myles Humphus (nope, nobody knows why he’s here!) who was stocked up with a nice supply of Kauai Grown stuffs.

Congratulations to Chip Bahouth and Christina Gabriel (she even got Troy Lazaro and his cast of internationally acclaimed Zumba leaders to lead the warm-up) on a great 40th annual Visitor Industry Charity Walk where Sandi Kato-Klukte (she got Carol Manera Texeira to whack the Westin Princeville loco moco!) and Christina were folding shirts in the 5 a.m. darkness at the north Vidinha soccer fields, and Sharon Lasker lost that San Francisco trip because “scissors cut paper.” Ashley Nagaoka got to come home for the walk, and said she’ll be back for the Taste of Hawaii presented by the Rotary Club of Kapaa in June.
More things to do … kudos to Ann Yamamoto and Annette Hashimoto for coordinating a space at Kukui Grove Center where crowds packed that space all day, and they didn’t need the Mother’s Day fashion show to bring in the people. Kudos to Melissa McFerrin-
Warrack for putting together the fashion show that featured moms Beverly Napoleon doing stints with daughter Mai’lika, and Rie getting to work with Tino Ombrello on the catwalk. Jenna Antolin (the youngest magazine publisher?) got to work with mom Ivy, who did a lot of the backstage stuff.
