Happy birthday to Richard Stein and Cion Manera (Carol Manera Texeira was able to squeeze in watching her mom perform at the Older Americans Festival Friday too!), who had their special days late last week!

Kudos to Fred Cowell, Darla Domingo (still waiting to hear about the Darla Domingo Dash … ), Mark Perriello and the Kauai Chamber of Commerce and Kauai Coffee ohana on a great Business After Hours where Michelle Emura and the chamber’s Military Affairs Committee honored our military and celebrated Kauai Coffee’s 20th anniversary.
Leland Kahawai is back (happy retirement to Brian Yamase — does this mean he goes back to mowing the sidewalks in Waimea again?) after spending all that time with First Hawaiian Bank on Maui.
More kudos to Kealoha Takahashi, Donna Olivas Kaohi (she’s a grandma?) and the county Agency on Elderly Affairs for coordinating and hosting the first-ever Older Americans Month Festival at Kukui Grove Center, where Johnny Yago was able to shake off that cold bug, and Teresa Caires is back from her Mainland trip to join our many groups to offer great aging in place opportunities (who got the dinner for four from the Regency at Puakea?) and services.
Jessica Clabo from the National Tropical Botanical Garden was giving away cannonball flower trees (hmmm, maybe that’s something the Lihue Seniors Bonsai Club can work with?) since the event coincided with National Public Garden Day.
Happy Mother’s Day, Kauai!
