The Kauai Gateball Club recently sent two teams to Maui to participate in a goodwill tournament.
Held at the Kula Community Recreational Park, the club members experienced playing under the lights in the cool and heavy Kula mist.
Although the Kauai teams did not fare well in the round-robin format tournament, they enjoyed renewing friendships and making new friends.
Kauai’s club president Ron Aceret was challenged to a shootout by Kula’s Miguel Lapa, in which the players try to have the least amount of strokes while maneuvering their ball through three gates and hit the agare post.
Aceret won the challenge with seven strokes while Lapa tallied 13.
The Kauai club hopes to host a goodwill tournament an invitational goodwill tournament in the near future.
