Anson N. Takemoto
Anson N. Takemoto passed away on Feb. 15, 2018, in Pataskala, Ohio. He was born Jan. 17, 1957.
He was preceded in death by father James Taro Takemoto, paternal grandparents Sotaro and Matsuyo Okazaki Azeka, paternal grandfather Kyotaro Takimoto, and maternal grandparents Teijii Tanaka and Kimi Inomoto Tanaka.
He is survived by mother Audrey Takemoto of McCleary, Washington and Wailua, and sister Naomi Takemoto of McCleary, Washington. He is also loved and remembered by his many relatives on the Azeka, Aseka, Hamada, Okazaki, Sugihara, Tanaka and Yasutake family clans. Due to health-related issues he lived in Ohio for several years. He will be remembered by those who knew him well as a fun, happy-go-lucky and caring person with a distinct laugh and smile.

Luciano ‘Lucky’ Oyamot
Luciano “Lucky” Oyamot, 85, of Makaweli, passed away on April 26, 2018, at his home.
Born on Jan. 5, 1933, in Makaweli Camp 6, he retired as a heavy equipment operator for Gay &Robinson Sugar Company, and also from the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by parents Florentino and Josepha Oyamot, son Lucky Luke Oyamot, great-granddaughter Baby Lily Durant, brothers Pedro, Dick, Larry, Marcie, Serverino “German” and Albert “Happy” Oyamot.
He is survived by wife Florence Rapozo Oyamot of Makaweli, son Chaddwick (Eric Rommen) Oyamot of Seattle, daughters Lorelei (Dellick) Numazawa of Waimea, Jodi (Clyde) Carvalho of Honolulu and Kristy (Roland) Durant of Makaweli, grandchildren Elua (Nylene) Numazawa, Kainoa (Tanya) Numazawa, Iakeka Numazawa, Kalae, Moani and Wailana Durant, Jade Oyamot, (Leny) Caberto, Kalani (Diana) Oyamot and Kealii and Piilani Carvalho, 15 great-grandchildren, sister Gloria Albarado, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 12, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery pavilion in Hanapepe from 10 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow.
The family suggests casual attire, requests no wreaths, and welcomes small arrangements.
Garden Island Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert Masao Mukai
Robert Masao Mukai passed away in early May in Lihue at the age of 83. He was born in Lihue.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a postmaster.
He is survived by sisters Betty Arakawa, Josephine Clevenger, Jean Cuthrell and Jane Arita.
Private services will be held at a later date.
