Josefina Padua Pabo, 95, of Hanamaulu, passed away on April 18, 2018. She was born in Bantay, Iloco Sur, Philippines on March 19, 1923. Retired as a Kauai Stores Sales Clerk, she was also an Avon Products Representative for 50 years.
She was preceded in death by husband, Irineo Pabo; daughter, Eliza Santos.
Josefina is survived by daughters, Amelia Lane of Los Angeles, California, Betty (Ted) Gundram of Renton, Washington; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10: a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Juanito Ramos Tumpap, 73, of Hanamaulu, passed away at home on April 29, 2018. He was born in Ilocos Norte, Philippines on Sept. 23, 1944, and retired as an Irrigation Supervisor with Lihue Sugar Plantation.
Preceded in death by his parents, Jose Dingal Tumpap, Felipa Ramos Tumpap; granddaughter, Faith Tumpap Lajar; brother-in-law, Perfecto Del Rosario; nieces, Delia Del Rosario and Maria Del Rosario.
Juanito is survived by children, Jun Tumpap, Marvin (Cindi) Tumpap, Jean (Phil) Tumpap; granddaughter, Hope Tumpap Lajar; brothers, Santiago (Maria) Tumpap, Loreto (Nena) Tumpap; sister, Marina Del Rosario; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018, at Immaculate Conception Church with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Folgencia “Flo” or “Inshiang” Domingo Abrams, 81, passed away in Oakland, California, on April 12, 2018. She was born on March 9, 1937, in Waimea, Kauai.
She is preceded in death by her father and mother, Justo and Susan “Corsino” Domingo; sister, Frances Short; brothers, Flaviano “Philip” Rodolpho, Bernaldo, Tomas; sister-in-laws, Juana and Erika Domingo; former husband, Barry Abrams; niece, Nadine Alvaro; grand-nieces, Dayna Mae Domingo, Michille Lee Short; grand-nephew, Gary D. Morris.
She is survived by her precious daughter, Angelica; her devoted son-in-law, Bhraath; beloved grandsons, Kirin Agustin, Krishnan Andres (Ev Soria); sister, Loretta King; brothers, Sylvestre “Bestre,” Ernesto “Ernie” Ray, “Mondo” (Janet) Domingo; numerous nieces and nephew; a former husband, Agustin (Annabele Agcaolli).
A celebration of life will be held at the Waimea Neighborhood Center on May 19, 2018, officiated by Reverend Lois Drake from San Diego at 10 a.m.

He was born on July 17, 1958, and passed away April 19, 2018.
He is survived by his loving wife, Antoinette Kahililaulani; children, Gilbert Alapa‘i, Amber Kahealani Alapa‘i, Ashley Alapa‘i-Gutierrez, Allen Ali’i Alapa‘i, and Aaron Aikane Alapa‘i. Blessed with 11 brothers and sisters; Wayne Yamamoto, Almira Kam, Angeline Torres, James Alapa‘i, Sarah Alapa‘i-Ballman, Agnes Akeneki Moniz, Lavern Kunukau, Wanda Mamaril, Alohalani Alapa‘i, Steven Keala Alapa‘i, and Hope Ku‘ualoha Rowland.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 2, at Wanini (Anini) Beach Park. Visitation with Family will be held at 2 p.m. with the Eulogy at 3 p.m. and dinner at 5 p.m.

Anson N Takemoto passed away on Feb. 15, 2018, in Pataskala, OH. Anson was born on Jan. 17, 1957.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Taro Takemoto; paternal grandparents, Sotaro and Matsuyo Okazaki Azeka; paternal grandfather, Kyotaro Takimoto; maternal grandparents, Teijii Tanaka and Kimi Inomoto Tanaka.
Anson is survived by his mother, Audrey Takemoto of McCleary, WA and Wailua, Kauai; sister, Naomi Takemoto of McCleary, WA. He is also loved and remembered by his many relatives on the Azeka, Aseka, Hamada, Okazaki, Sugihara, Tanaka, and Yasutake family clan. Due to health related issues Anson lived in Ohio for several years. Anson will be remembered by those who knew him well as a fun, happy go-lucky and caring person with a distinct laugh and smile.
A private service will be held at the Kapaa United Church of Christ.

Ness Cruzada Baris, 55, of California, passed away on April 8, 2018. She was born in Sap-ang, Silago, Southern Leyte, Philippines on Jan. 7, 1963.

John “Jimmy” James Palmeira, Jr., 87 years old, of Kapaa, Kauai, passed away on May 1, 2018, at Kauai Care Center in Waimea, Kauai. Born on Nov. 3, 1930 in Koloa, Kauai, he was a retired United States Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer, Maintenance Engineer for Wilcox Memorial Hospital, Coco Palms Hotel, Marine Engineer for Waialeale and Smith’s Motor Boat Tours.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Daisy Borges Palmeira; brother, Antone “Tony” Palmeira, Walter “Wally” Palmeira.
He is survived by his wife, Belminda R. Palmeira; sons, Randall “Randy” (Chris) Palmeira, Michael “Kimo” (Dana) Palmeira, Laurence “Larry” (Julia) Palmeira; daughters, Rose M. Palmeira Debora (Stuart) McKenzie, Naomi (Greg) Francis; 15 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; brother:, Ernest Palmeira; numerous, nieces, nephews and cousins.
