Luciano ‘Lucky’ Oyamot
Luciano “Lucky” Oyamot, 85, of Makaweli, passed away on April 26, 2018, at his home.
Born on Jan. 5, 1933, in Makaweli Camp 6, he was retired as a heavy equipment operator for Gay &Robinson Sugar Company, and also from the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by parents Florentino and Josepha Oyamot, son Lucky Luke Oyamot, great-granddaughter Baby Lily Durant, brothers Pedro, Dick, Larry, Marcie, Serverino “German” and Albert “Happy” Oyamot.
He is survived by wife Florence Rapozo Oyamot of Makaweli, son Chaddwick (Eric Rommen) Oyamot of Seattle, daughters Lorelei (Dellick) Numazawa of Waimea, Jodi (Clyde) Carvalho of Honolulu and Kristy (Roland) Durant of Makaweli, grandchildren Elua (Nylene) Numazawa, Kainoa (Tanya) Numazawa, Laleka Numazawa, Kalae, Moani and Wailana Durant, Jade Oyamot (Leny) Caberto, Kalani (Diana) Oyamot, Kealii and Piilani Carvalho, 15 great-grandchildren, sister Gloria Albarado, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, May 12, at the Kauai Veterans Cemetery pavilion from 10 a.m., where services will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Inurnment will follow.
The family suggests casual attire, requests that wreaths be omitted, and welcomes small arrangements.

Visita ‘Mina’ Filomena Villanueva Viernes Turqueza
Visita “Mina” Filomena Villanueva Viernes Turqueza of Hanamaulu passed away on April 5, 2018, at home at the age of 93. Born on July 2, 1924 in Vintar, Ilocos Norte, Philippines, she was a dedicated homemaker.
She was preceded in death by husband Metodio Turqueza, parents Claudio and Dionicia Viernes, brothers Bartolome, Macario and Gorgonio Viernes, and sisters Delfina Idlao and Colleta Viernes.
She is survived by son Patricio “Mr. Pat” (Pauline) Viernes, granddaughter Venessa F. Viernes, great-granddaughter Kylee Viernes Toyama, sister-in-law Carlina Viernes, and several nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Friends may visit with family on Saturday, May 5, at Immaculate Conception Church from 8 to 9:30 a.m., where Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.

Earl L. Lanning Sr.
Earl L. Lanning Sr., 80, of Anahola, passed away on April 26, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on June 7, 1937, in Hawaii, he was a fisherman.
He was preceded in death by parents Carl and Carrie Lanning Sr., wife Lynette Lanning, sisters Cherie Lanning Mendes, Lorraine Lanning, Abigail Swain Kobayashi and Beatrice Swain, and brothers Titus Swain, Carl Lanning Jr., Theodore Lanning and Errol Lanning.
He is survived by sons Earl (Jolene) Lanning Jr., Pono (Tammy) Lanning Sr., Archie Lanning and Moku Lanning, daughters Earlyn (Kimo) Tin, Earlet (Kimo) Lanning and Earline “Pua” (Alani) Lanning, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters Collette Lanning Tovi, Carrie Lanning Carvalho, Leslie Lanning and Valorry Lanning, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 12, at 3852 Makaio Road in Anahola from 11 a.m., with services to follow at 1:30 p.m. A paina will follow.
The family suggests aloha attire.

Juanito Ramos Tumpap
Juanito Ramos Tumpap, 73, of Hanamaulu, passed away at home on April 29, 2018. He was born in Ilocos Norte, Philippines, on Sept. 23, 1944, and retired as an irrigation supervisor with Lihue Plantation.
He was preceded in death by parents Jose Dingal Tumpap and Felipa Ramos Tumpap, granddaughter Faith Tumpap Lajar, brother-in-law Perfecto Del Rosario, and nieces Delia Del Rosario and Maria Del Rosario.
He is survived by three children, Jun Tumpap, Marvin (Cindi) Tumpap and Jean (Phil) Tumpap, granddaughter Hope Tumpap Lajar, brothers Santiago (Maria) Tumpap and Loreto (Nena) Tumpap, sister Marina Del Rosario, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 25, at Immaculate Conception Church, with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
