Josefina Padua Pabo
Josefina Padua Pabo, 95, of Hanamaulu, passed away on April 18, 2018. She was born in Bantay, Iloco Sur, Philippines, on March 19, 1923. She retired as a Kauai Stores sales clerk, and was also an Avon Products Representative for 50 years.
She was preceded in death by husband Irineo Pabo and daughter Eliza Santos.
She is survived by daughters Amelia Lane of Los Angeles and Betty (Ted) Gundram of Renton, Washington, six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 10, at Immaculate Conception Church, with viewing from 8 a.m. and Mass celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens.
Kauai Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Earl L. Lanning Sr.
Earl L. Lanning Sr., 80, of Anahola, passed away on April 26, 2018, at Wilcox Medical Center.
Born on June 7, 1937 in Hawaii, he was a fisherman.
He was preceded in death by parents Carl and Carrie Lanning Sr., wife Lynette Lanning, sisters Cherie Lanning Mendes, Lorraine Lanning, Abigail Swain Kobayashi and Beatrice Swain, brothers Titus Swain, Carl Lanning Jr., Theodore Lanning and Errol Lanning.
He is survived by sons Earl (Jolene) Lanning Jr., Pono (Tammy) Lanning Sr., Archie Lanning and Moku Lanning, daughters Earlyn (Kimo) Tin, Earlet (Kimo) Lanning and Earline “Pua” (Alani) Lanning, 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, sisters Collette Lanning Tovi, Carrie Lanning Carvalho, Leslie Lanning and Valorry Lanning, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 12, at 3852 Makaio Road in Anahola from 11 a.m., with services to follow at 1:30 p.m. A paina will follow. The family suggests aloha attire.
