LIHUE — The Zonta Club of Kauai has enhanced its scholarship program for high school women, its Kauai Community College scholarship for women re-entering the workforce, and the Young Women in Public Affairs Award.
LIHUE — The Zonta Club of Kauai has enhanced its scholarship program for high school women, its Kauai Community College scholarship for women re-entering the workforce, and the Young Women in Public Affairs Award.
Application forms and downloadable details are available at the Zonta website, www.zonta-kauai.org/scholarships, and the deadline for the completed forms is May 11. Completed applications can be mailed to The Zonta Club of Kauai Foundation, P.O. Box 3032, Lihue, HI 96766.
Generally, the scholarship program for high school includes awards of $1,000 for young women pursuing higher education.
The KCC scholarship offers $1,000 for a woman returning to the workforce and pursuing her education at KCC.
Students pursuing an education as a teacher in the elementary education field are eligible to apply for The William and Marge Akana Scholarship, which will award $1,000.
The Young Women in Public Affairs award is available to women ages 16 through 19 as of April 1. The young women must be living in a Zonta district or region, or a citizen of a Zonta country.
The Zonta Club of Kauai is an international service organization of executives in business and professions. Funds for its scholarship programs are derived from its service projects, including the signature Eat Dessert First event held in February.
