LIHUE — Rep 50 Sports will host its 2018 All Hawaii Bowl at 6 tonight at Vidinha Stadium.
About 50 high school football players are expected to play.
“The (game) is to showcase the underclassmen from across the state and some of the top available seniors that are unsigned,” said Rep 50 founder and organizer Vince Mene during Friday’s practice at Isenberg Park.
“We got the center from Damien, Eli Save. The cornerback from Hilo, Kash Ioane, he’s unsigned. We’re in the process right now. We got a couple of schools that contacted us prior to the game for a couple of these kids, and we’re trying to put these underclassmen on their radar.”
College representatives will be in attendance to scout the players, Mene said. They include, from Division II, Eastern New Mexico and Western Oregon. From Division II, George Fox and Pacific University from Oregon. NAIA was Southern Oregon, and junior colleges are Arizona Western and New Mexico Military.
Mene added a few Division I colleges won’t attend but have interest as well.
“The schools from Division I that requested rosters for the game are UCLA, Arizona and Hawaii,” he said. “The rosters were submitted to them so they can watch on the live stream.”
Among the players, 29 represent the Kauai Interscholastic Federation.
