I know it won’t be fun
but you will get it done
Holy Jeepers Creepers.
Why did this happen to us?
You kind of get the feeling
You’ve been run over by a bus.
I remember Hurricane ‘Iniki
Way back in ‘92
The damage was horrific
But you came back as good as new.
The carnage has been disastrous.
And everyone’s in shock
But it will soon get better
As you work around the clock.
The rain storm has caused great damage.
Like something we have never seen.
It gives you that same kind of feeling
As though you’re having a bad, bad dream.
I know you are having your troubles
And I’m not sure what to say.
But the fact that you are Kauaian
Will make you stronger every day.
No matter where you go.
And no matter what you do.
One thing about Kauaians.
They are always there for you.
When we see your acts of kindness.
That all Kauaians do.
It makes a huge impression.
As we strive to be like you.
Whenever I am in Kauai.
I’m as happy as can be.
For your friendship and your love.
Mean all the world to me.
So here’s to your success.
As you return to the good old days.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
As you go along your way.
One Island Many People.
All Kauains this is true.
As the spirit of the Island.
Keeps coming through to you.
