POIPU — Representatives of the Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital Auxiliary battled traffic to the Sheraton Kauai Resort in Poipu to accept a check from the Table 53 located inside the RumFire Poipu Beach restaurant at the Sheraton Kauai Resort.
Steve Kline, Mark Kennett, Jill Faye-Papworth, and Kelly Liberatore assembled with Rodney Moura of RumFire, Chip Bahouth, Sheraton Kauai general manager, and the crew from RumFire in accepting the check for $3,795.89 representing the proceeds from Table 53 for January under the Sheraton’s You Dine, We Give program.
Under the Table 53 program, all net food and beverage proceeds from Table 53 are donated to local nonprofit organizations. Since its inception in October, 2012, this initiative has raised more than $200,000 toward charitable causes.
Proceeds from February will be presented to the Friends of the Children’s Justice Center, and proceeds from March will benefit the Hawaii Lodging and Tourism Association, Kauai Chapter Visitor Industry Charity Walk which will celebrate its annual event, May 12 at the North Vidinha soccer fields starting at 7 a.m.
The Sheraton Kauai announced that proceeds from Table 53 for the month of April will benefit the Boys &Girls Club, Kauai whose mission at its three Kauai centers is to enable all young people, especially those who need it most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.
Table 53 is a private booth with ocean views that overlook the courtyard, inviting fire pits, and stunning sunsets.
It is located inside RumFire Poipu Beach that features locally-sourced cuisine with global influences and an extensive cocktail menu that includes the largest rum selection on Kauai.
The table is available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and patrons interested in participating in the Table 53 program are encouraged to make reservations by calling 742-4786 and requesting Table 53.
