Congratulations to Chef Jason Sunada and his ohana on the opening of Kawaii Kokoro, a patisserie located across Akahi street from the Tip Top Cafe in Lihue. Chef Jason used to do baked goods at the Kauai Community College culinary arts department, and now has a bunch of fancy patisserie (love all them raisins in the scones!), including mousse (almost as good as the PBJ sandwich lunches, Yukie DeSilva, who liked the strawberry thingies) in a variety of flavors. They celebrate the shop’s grand opening on Saturday.

The opening is part of the day’s excitement that starts with the Grove Farm Community Swap Meet (and where was Coach Beau Acoba that the notice never came in?) from 8 a.m. at the Grove Farm Park in Puhi.
Across the highway, the Garden Fair and the Boy Scout Makahiki get underway following the March for Babies (is Mike Dandurand doing the sound again?) at the Lydgate Beach Park with Nannie Ann Apalla, Kaulana Efhan’s ohana, and a lot of people. Anthony Florick said Kmart (kudos on that great Little Caesars lunch giveaway!) will definitely have a team walking, and so will Macy’s.
