Kauai man dies in waters off Poipu

POIPU — A Kauai resident died in waters off Poipu on Wednesday afternoon. Police have identified the man as 33-year-old Brandon Pagala of Kekaha.

According to police, Pagala was scuba diving when he became distressed and apparently lost consciousness. A friend brought Pagala back to shore and began administering CPR with assistance from a bystander.

Pagala was transported to Wilcox Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Hard luck story. Was there any drinking prior to diving in Poipu waters? Mix of alcohol and sunlight, photo synthesis is lethal dose of toxicity and water on the skin. Evaporation effect. In the blood. Plus dangerous currents everywhere.
