HONOLULU — Kade Kikuchi, of Lihue, fired a 79 Sunday during the final round of the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association Junior Tour Series-Oahu which wrapped up at the Olomana Golf Course on Oahu.
HONOLULU — Kade Kikuchi, of Lihue, fired a 79 Sunday during the final round of the Hawaii State Junior Golf Association Junior Tour Series-Oahu which wrapped up at the Olomana Golf Course on Oahu.
The 79 was the best round of the Boys 11-12 flight, Sunday and pushed Kikuchi, the sole Kauai golfer in the field, to a tie with Ben Cafferio of Wailuku, Maui after both boys finished with a two-round 162. James Fujita of Honolulu finished two strokes off the pace at 164 for third place in the flight.
Dylan Sakasegawa of Pearl City, Oahu topped the Boys 7-10 flight with a two-day 173, three strokes ahead of Tristan Bayot (176) of Waipahu.
Dysen Park of Hilo, Hawaii topped the Boys 13-14 flight with a two-day 153, two strokes ahead of Jet Magsanide (155) of Ewa Beach, Oahu.
On the girls course, Ava Cepeda of Ka‘aawa, Oahu topped the Girls 7-10 flight on a two-day 156 over Kate Nakaoka (169) of Mililani, and Raya Nakao (156) of Kaneohe was five strokes better than Teal Matsueda (161) of Honolulu in the Girls 11-12 flight.
Chloe Jang of Honolulu finished with a two-day 155 to finish five strokes ahead of Jennifer Seo (160), also of Honolulu in the Girls 13-14 flight.
The next HSJGA JTS tournament will be contested April 14 and 15 on the Big Island at the Mauna Lani Resort Golf in Waikoloa. Kauai hosts the JTS tournament, April 28 and 29 at the Wailua Golf Course.
