The 21st HIFF Spring Showcase presented by Halekulani is kicking off on April 6 to April 15 at Regal Dole Cannery. Tickets have been on sale since March 23. HIFF.org shows that there are 33 films from 12 countries including four titles from South Korea: “The Fortress,” “The Satellite Girl and Milk Cow,” “Little Forest” and “1987: When the Day Comes.”
The Hawaii International Film Festivals main event is in the Fall as HIFF will celebrate its 38th anniversary with the new Executive Director Beckie Stocchetti. Beckie is the new face of HIFF who hit the ground running from March 2017 after the departure of Robert Lambeth who held the position since 2014.

Episodes 29 &30 – FINAL
Today, 6:30 p.m.: Lost in battle, Junghak is cast aside as a slave. Noksu, realizing imminent death, prepares the last feast for the King. Gildong falls asleep with an unconscious Garyung in his arms.
Today, 7:45 p.m.: The King and Noksu face the fury of the people. Slave Junghak threatens his master with a sickle in his hand. Gildong and Garyung hear shocking news. A new kingdom has dawned upon the people of Joseon.
‘Should We Kiss First?’
Episodes 9 &10 (Mon); 11 &12 (Tues)
Monday 7:45 p.m.: Moo-han and Soon-jin endure lonely nights alone, but together. Sharing a bed is still very awkward and embarrassing. But at the same time, their guard comes down and their feelings for each other blossoms. Soon-jin’s ex-husband feels jealousy and guilt at his ex-wife’s new man.
Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Soon-jin succeeds in winning over Moo-han. Soon-jin and Moo-han have opened up to each other emotionally, and move towards each other more openly. But as always, unfortunate events loom, when Soon-jin’s happiness is at her reach.

Episodes 21 &22 (Wed); 23 &24 (Thur)
Wednesday 7:45 p.m.: Dok-go suspects a possible murder, upon finding the hairpin. Hak-bum and Tae-suk probe into Ja-hye’s background and finds evidence about her mysterious past. Dok-go questions Ja-hye’s motive for taking on Jung-soo as her client. She’s calm when against the furious Dok-go.
Thursday 7:45 p.m.: A crime the four princes committed in the past is back to haunt them. Na-ra learns the ugly truth about her husband. Ja-hye smiles, as only winners can, when Tae-suk tells her he’ll make up for their wrongdoings from the past. Ja-hye is engulfed in sadness at thinking about her daughter.

Friday, 7:45 p.m.: Childless Boo Cheon and Mo Hyun return after living five years in America. Pil Joo glimpses Seo Won with a child at the airport and runs after them. Pil Joo and Chairman Jang work on evidence against Mo Hyun’s father as a security blanket. Whereas Seong Man works to make sure Mo Hyun’s father’s campaign fails.
Saturday, 7:45 p.m.: Mal Ran runs into Seo Won, and Boo Cheon’s child are the hospital. Mal Ran senses Seo Won’s relationship with Boo Cheon. Mal Ran warns Seo Won of how the Jang family handles illegitimate children. Assistant Oh’s pursuit of Jang Eun Cheon continues. Mo Hyun gets pregnant with everyone’s blessing. Trouble abounds with the slush fund delivery.
