Fumiko H. Sadanaga
Fumiko H. Sadanaga of Kilauea passed away at home on Feb. 19, 2018, at the age of 95. She was born in Makaweli, Kauai on May 14, 1922, and retired as a part time Postal Clerk at Kilauea.
Preceded in death by her husband, Eichi Sadanaga; grandson, Davin Goo; parents, Totaro and Hana Horikawa; brother, Toichi Horikawa; sister-in-law, Noriko Horikawa.
Fumiko is survived by one son, Ken Sadanaga; two daughters, Arlene (Minoru) Ota and Karen Goo; 5 grandchildren, Kent Sadanaga, LaReina Nebre, LaRisa (Chandler “Atta” Forrest) Nebre, Darren Ota, Carrie (Leighton) Kato; great-grandchildren, Reidon Rathbone, Zoie Rathbone, Kiyomi Forest, Kimiko Forest; brother, Noboru (Elsie) Horikawa; sister-in-law, Violet Sueko Hamada; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Kapaa Hongwanji with visitation from noon and services beginning at 1 p.m. Inurnment will be a private service at Kauai Memorial Gardens at a later date.
Kauai Memorial Gardens & Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.
Fujiko Arinaga Mamura
Fujiko Arinaga Mamura, 95, was called to her eternal resting place on March 4, 2018. She passed away peacefully at home in Waimanalo, Hawaii. Born on July 20, 1922, in Kealia, Kauai, she was a retired secretary for Special Services, Kauai School District Office.
She was predeceased by her husband, Misuku Mamura; son, Owen Mamura; brothers, Naoto, Masashi, and Clifford Arinaga.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail (Hernando) Rombaoa; son, Nathan (Pranorm) Mamura; daughter-in-law, Judy Mamura; brother, Thomas Arinaga; sister, Rachel Tamura; sister-in-law, Esther Arinaga; grandchildren, Naomi (Jason) Tanaka, Matthew (Nikki) Mamura, Melissa (Bill) LeFever, Maya Mamura, Marcie Mamura, Clare Mamura; two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Fujiko will be forever remembered by her family and friends. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, April 21, 2018, at Lihue Hongwanji from 4 p.m.; services will be at 5 p.m. followed by a reception.
Flora Remata
Flora Remata, 82 years old of Lihue, Kauai, passed away on March 10, 2018, in Lihue, Kauai. She was born on Oct. 28, 1935, on Kauai.
She was preceded in death by her father, Isaac Luis and mother, Victoria Luis.
She is survived by husband, Doric Remata of Lihue, Kaua; sons, Nathan (Lynn) Remata of Manoa, Oahu, Emery Remata of Lawai, Kauai, Vince Remata of Lihue, Kauai, Mark (Denise) Remata of Pearl City, Oahu; daughters, Allyson (Lance) Okamoto, Joni (Jr) Savusa of Ewa Beach, Oahu; grandchildren, Rayna Remata, Kacie Remata, Nicholas Perreira, Cale Okamoto, Harper Okamoto, Jamie Okamoto; brother, Ted Luis of Chicago; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephew and cousins.
Services will be held on March 24, 2018, at Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai. Visitation with the family from 4 to 5 p.m. with service to begin at 5 p.m.
Casual attire requested.
