HANALEI — The Kauai North Shore Lions Club’s famous annual “Pancakes and Hula” breakfast will be held on April 8 at Hanalei School from 7 to 11 a.m.
In addition to great pancakes, and all that goes with them, there will be hula and entertainment, lucky drawings and a silent auction. Also, takeout will be available.
Tickets will be on sale at the Princeville Foodland from April 5 to 7.
Contact Don McConnell at 652-3129 for information about ticket purchases.
This is a major fund raiser for the North Shore Lions Club, and proceeds are used for many worthy causes, including scholarships for North Shore students and free vision and hearing testing for seniors and students.
The Kauai North Shore Lions will also be collecting used eyeglasses at the pancake breakfast.
Throughout the year, Lions, Leos and other volunteers collect used eyeglasses and deliver them to regional Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers.
LERC volunteers clean, sort by prescription strength and package the glasses. Recycled glasses are distributed to people in need in low and middle income communities throughout the world where they will have the greatest impact.
