Baron Hiranaka
Baron Hiranaka, 66, of Lihue, passed away on March 9, 2018.
Born on May 29, 1951, in Lihue, he was a retired carpenter with Shioi Construction Inc.
He is survived by wife Stephanie Hiranaka of Lihue, son Taires Hiranaka of Wailua, stepson Alex Ruiz of Honolulu, stepdaughter Sunshine Hatto of Kauai, brother Mark Hiranaka of Lihue, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins,
Private services were held.
Garden Island Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Flora Remata
Flora Remata, 82, of Lihue, passed away on March 10, 2018, in Lihue.
She was born on Oct. 28, 1935, on Kauai.
She was preceded in death by father Isaac Luis and mother Victoria Luis.
She is survived by husband Doric Remata of Lihue, sons Nathan (Lynn) Remata of Manoa, Oahu, Emery Remata of Lawai, Vince Remata of Lihue and Mark (Denise) Remata of Pearl City, Oahu, daughters Allyson (Lance) Okamoto, Joni (Jr.) Savusa of Ewa Beach, Oahu, grandchildren Rayna Remata, Kacie Remata, Nicholas Perreira, Cale Okamoto, Harper Okamoto and Jamie Okamoto, brother Ted Luis of Chicago, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephew and cousins.
Services will be held on March 24 at the Garden Island Mortuary chapel in Lawai,with visitation with the family from 4 to 5 p.m. and the service to begin at 5 p.m.
The family suggests casual attire.
Toshiko Asato Kajihara
Toshiko Asato Kajihara, 95, died on Feb. 3, 2018, at Queen’s Medical Center, following a brief illness. Born in Hamakua Poko and raised in Lahaina, Maui, she lived in Waimea, Kauai, and Mililani and Kaimuki on Oahu. She retired as a medical records clerk from Kauai Veterans Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by Takashi, her husband of 71 years, children Ken (Sallie) Kajihara, Tom (Deidre) Kajihara, Emi Troeger and Sue (Paul) Nozaki, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Private services were held. The family requests no gifts be offered.

Puanani Kua
Winona Puanani Kua, 87, of Kekaha, passed away on March 10, 2018, in Waimea.
She was born on Aug. 14, 1930.
She was preceded in death by husband Melvin H Kua Sr., sons Melvin “Bones” (Stanette) Kua Jr. of Kekaha and Kenway (Bonnie) Kua of Kaneohe, Oahu, daughters Melva Uilani (Erwin) Wright of Kekaha, Luana Kuinilani Kua of Honolulu and Winona Puanani (Leonard) Nihipali of Hauula, Oahu; grandchildren Chad Yadao, Cherilynn Kua, Cheyne Kua, CJ McKeague, Cami Rivas, Erwin Wright III, Meagan Wright, Lynnell Zempoaltecatl, Rachel Anne Wright, Allyson Wright, Evan Wright, Kenway Hon Wai K. Kua, Terrance Keola H.L. Kua, Sandi Nihipali, 14 great-grandchildren, brothers Bennett Naholoholo Sr. of Waimea and Maurice Naholoholo of Arizona, sister Dahlia Kamalani of Anahola, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on March 24, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Kekaha Ward. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., with the service to begin at 11 am. Burial will follow at the Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.
The family suggests aloha attire.

Clyde Tsuneo Murakami
Clyde Tsuneo Murakami, 69, passed away on Dec. 22, 2017, at his home.
He was born on June 6, 1948, in Paia, Maui.
He was retired as a electronics technician and also from the U.S. Army.
He was preceded in death by parents Tsutomu and Mitsuye Murakami, and sister Gail Murakami.
He is survived by wife Audrey Murakami, brothers Eric Murakami and Adney Murakami of Kaneohe, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Private services were held.
