Allen T. Nonaka
Allen T. Nonaka, 74 years old of Hanapepe, Kauaik, passed away on Feb. 19, 2018, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. Born on Nov. 18, 1943, in Hanapepe, Kauai, Allen was a heavy equipment operator for Aina Construction.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Takao and Chiyoko Nonaka; brother, Edward Nonaka (Ethel) sister-in-Law; brother-in-law, Charles Yoshioka.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Nagao Nonaka of Hanapepe; sons, Leroy Nonaka of Hanapepe, Wendall (Darla) Nonaka of Hanapepe; hanai daughter, Michal Nakashima of Hanapepe; grandchildren, Keith, Kasey, Hailey, Mikah Nonaka; brothers, Alvis (Vivian) Nonaka of Makaweli, Bert (Wendy) Nishida of Eleele, Harry (Charlene) Nonaka of Honolulu, Clifford (Lynthia) of Kekaha; sisters, Irene Yoshioka of Hanamaulu, Lynda (Bernard) Makanui of Lawai, Amy (Roy) Sunada of Hanapepe, Janice (Minato) Akiyama of Puhi; numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may visit with the family on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Kauai Soto Zen Shuji in Hanapepe from 1 to 3:45 p.m. where services will be celebrated at 4 p.m. The family requests casual attire.

Loretta Therese Blackstad
Loretta Therese Blackstad, Born Oct. 11, 1947, in lihue Kauai. Passed on Feb. 20, 2018, at Straub Hospital at the age of 70. She was a retired hairdresser and a office manager.
Preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Mae Andrade.
She survived by her husband, Ronald A Blackstasd; sons, Kevin J (Adrianne), Kris K and Kyle R (Wailana); grandchildren, Kira, Koby, Kelly, Kannen, Kahanu, and Wehilani; sisters, Joyce (Anthony) Silva, Pat (Howard) Naleimaile; brothers, Manuel (Phyllis) and Michael (Sherry) Andrade; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo. Visitation will be from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. with church service to follow.
The family requests casual attire. Flowers and Leis welcome. Please no wreaths.
Winona Puanani Kua
Winona Puanani Kua, 87 years old of Kekaha, Kaua’i, passed away on March 10, 2018, in Waimea, Kaua’i. She was born on Aug. 14, 1930.
She is preceded in death by husband, Melvin H Kua Sr.
She is survived by sons, Melvin “Bones” (Stanette) Kua Jr of Kekaha, Kaua’i, Kenway (Bonnie) Kua of Kaneohe, Oahu; daughters, Melva Uilani (Erwin) Wright of Kekaha, Kaua’i, Luana Kuinilani Kua, of Honolulu, Oahu, Winona Puanani (Leonard) Nihipali of Hau’ula, Oahu; grandchildren, Chad Yado, Cherilyn Kua, Cheyne Kua, CJ McKeague Cami Rivas, Erwin Wright III, Megan Wright, Lynnell Zempoaltecah, Rachel Anne Wright Allyson Wright, Evan Wright, Kenway Hon Wai K Kua, Terrance Keola HL Kua, Sandi Nihipali; 14 great grandchildren; brothers, Bennett Naholoholo Sr of Waimea, Kaua’i, Maurice Naholoholo of Arizona; sister, Dahlia Kamalani of Anahola, Kaua’i; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held on March 24, 2018, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Kekaha Ward. Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. and service begins at 11 a.m. Burial to follow at the Kekaha Hawaiian Cemetery.

Louis Parraga Jr.
Louis Parraga Jr. Of Kekaha, Kauai, Hawaii, passed away on Feb. 28, 2018, at the of 90 at Kauai Veteran’s Memorial Hospital. Born in Kalaheo, Kauai, on Oct. 31, 1927, he was a heavy equipment operator and mechanic for Kekaha Sugar Plantation and a United States Army Korean War Veteran.
He is preceded in death by parents, Louis and Mary Parraga, Sr.; wife, Margaret Anna Koerte Parraga; son, Wayne Steven Parraga.
He is survived by son, Franklin Louis Parraga of Kekaha, Kauai; daughter, Penny May (Marvin) Parraga-Fujinaka of Kapaa, Kauai; brother, Joe Parraga of Arizona; 5 grandchildren, Waynette (Jeff) Parraga, Tina (Greg) Parraga-Alejandro, Wayne Kai (Kawai) Parraga, Vanaessa Parraga, Mallory (Brian) Rodriquez; hanai grandchildren, Sarah, Joshua, David ,Nicole; great-grandchildren, Keegan, Makana, Italee, Kaleko, Keaka, Ka’ihi, Kalai, Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, friends.
Friends may visit the family on Friday, March 23, 2018, at Lihue Lutheran Church with visitation at 9:30 a.m. and service at 10:30 a.m.
Burial to follow at Lihue Lutheran Church Cemetery.
