LIHUE — A Lihue mortgage loan originator has been named one of the top producers in the state.
Kauai’s Lisa Ledesma and Big Island’s Ronnie Strickler were recognized as February’s top producers, according to HomeBridge Financial Services in Hawaii.
Ledesma said she loves seeing her clients’ faces when their loan is approved and gets great satisfaction in helping Kauai families get into their dream home. She is passionate about approving loans from Federal Housing Administration, US Department of Agriculture, and Veterans Affairs.
“I offer a variety of loans, and I am upfront with all my Raltors and clients if I can do the loan,” Ledesma said. “I work hard to make sure that we follow guidelines and close on time.”
“A local family or a visitor will often give my name to their friends and family after an efficient experience,” she added. “It’s a proven recipe: You do a good job and take care of people, they will remember you.”
The Kauai resident has three decades of experience in the mortgage industry. Prior to HomeBridge, Ledesma worked at Bank of Hawaii for 13 years and Wells Fargo for almost 10 years. For the last 20 years, she has received awards for top sales producer at both companies.
“We are pretty tight on inventory currently, but our community should know there are so many programs out there to help you achieve your dream of owning a home,” she said. “We can offer a variety of 100 percent financing, or 3 to 3.5 percent down.”
Born in Honolulu and raised in Hilo, Ledesma has been living on Kauai since 1990 with her husband and four sons. She has completed three Ironman triathlons and travels regularly to compete in races around the world with a running group that she founded six years ago, called Kauai Divas &Dudes.
“Some families don’t really understand that what they pay for rent can be just as much as a mortgage,” Ledesma said. “It doesn’t cost anything to come in and prequalify. I want our community to know we are here and our goal is to help more families own property here on Kauai.”
HomeBridge is one of the largest privately held, non-bank lenders in the U.S. and has grown to include nearly 3,000 associates throughout its corporate offices, 250 retail branches in 35 states, and two wholesale divisions. It funded more than $13 billion in home loans nationwide in 2017.
HomeBridge Hawaii also has offices on Oahu, Maui and Hawaii Island.
