HANALEI – A blessing was recently held to mark the completion and opening of the Hanalei Neighborhood Center.
Contracted by Pacific Blue Construction, the scope of the $1.1 million county project consisted of ADA improvements, electrical and flood proofing upgrades, roof repairs, and the installation of a septic system.
“The completion of this project means that we can now offer recreational programs for keiki and kupuna here on our island’s North Shore,” said Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho Jr.
A dozen subcontractors were part of the project, as well as architects Dennis Kimura and Rodel Viloria of Pacific Architects.
The facility will also be able to issue camping permits, and the Na Keiki O Halele‘a Foundation in partnership with Hanalei School will offer after-school programs in the facility.
