POIPU – Ocean Safety Bureau officials are advising no swimming at Poipu Beach today, due a strong and dangerous rip current as well as high surf.
Lifeguards at Poipu Beach are reporting surf heights between 4-8 feet and higher.
A High Surf Warning is in effect for all east-facing shores until 6 a.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. Strong east-southwest winds will generate high surf through this evening.
Ocean Safety officials are also urging beachgoers to exercise caution and consult lifeguards before entering the ocean.
