Where did Jane Kinzer get her fancy shirt (brings back memories of Hurricane Iniki) from? Jane was checking out the new Porky’s food truck that was parked outside the shave ice place during the Music in the Park (mahalo for the banana lumpia, Chef Carla Dusenberry, who will be participating in the Scotty’s Music Ukulele Contest Saturday at the Waimea Town Celebration Ho‘olaule‘a).

Kudos to Thomas Nizo (and, where was Puni Patrick after being on the radio?) for pulling off the hot-dog-eating contest. Thomas got help from U‘i Boyd (they were saving Aunty Geri Kuhia for the Wednesday Music in the Park), who were from Los Angeles to support Puni and the Waimea Town Celebration (how many of you have discovered the Aunty Lilikoi chiffon pie, or the Lawai li hing mui?)
OK, it’s time for the rodeo (does press have privileges?), and it’s too bad they moved the Paniolo Hat Lei Contest to Saturday since we get to do the ho‘olaule‘a (is the West Kauai Methodist Church doing the Becky Komaki poi balls?) on Friday (Torie Ho‘opi‘i said the designer for Missing Polynesia Clothing is coming on Friday and Saturday).
