Kudos to Dinah Chao and her Kauai Animal Welfare Society ‘ohana on a great fundraiser Saturday at the Courtyard by Marriott at Coconut Beach who did a good job of working with KAWS to allow some of the organization’s foster animals to be present.

Dinah said they outgrew the last fundraiser so moved to Darryl Low’s luau tent for this year’s event that celebrated the Chinese Year of the Dog which just happened to fall on Friday.
Thao Tu had a KAWS forever foster Kai on hand who got so excited when people stopped to greet him, and Darryl came to check the excitement while Haunani Kaui and Linda Laranio kept the lounge hopping with good music.
Bradford Kaeo may have missed the American Culinary Federation Breakfast (kudos to all those Kauai Community College folks on another great event!), but made up for it when her exchange students, Masa Foreman and Kei Ikehara got to see the Tsunami Taiko Chinese lions in action at the Kukui Grove Center where Ron Wiley had the people going with the doggie fashion show coordinated by Jan Woo of Barkaroo Bakery and an appearance by the Showtime Character doggies, Pluto and Goofy.
OK, time to go check out Josh Fukino and Pua Rossi who will bring the “Ku‘i” to the Waimea Town Celebration Lunch in the Park (they’re having the Spam Musubi eating contest, today!) at Hofgaard Park as part of the Waimea Town Celebration.
