WAIMEA — The 41st annual Waimea Town Celebration continues today.
Music in the Park is set for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Hofgaard Park with Michael Keale performing. There will also be a hot dog eating contest.
Wednesday, Geri Kuhia will be the featured musician, and Thursday, Empress I will take the stage.
A main event Thursday will be Tales and Treats, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Historic Waimea Theater. Hawaiian tales will be told by Native Hawaiian actor and storyteller, Moses Goods. Tickets are $10.
The celebration runs through Sunday. Main events this weekend include a rodeo, paniolo hat lei contest, softball and baseball tournaments, the Captain Cook Caper Run, long distance canoe race, ice cream eating contest and an ukulele contest.
